Review Sheet Added

The Stuff to Remember sheet I distributed in class can be found by clicking on the title “Review Sheet” on the list of pages at the right.  I will also post it on my page of the Wiki.

If you have questions about any of the topics feel free to give me a call or send an e mail.  459-5815 dcartwright@collegeofidaho.edu

Wednesday Post

I have posted both of Don’s PPs as pages.  Also on the list of pages on the right are links to the Human Subject Course and the Boise School District application to do research I mentioned in class.  If you would like to look at the IRB process for the College of Idaho, you can go to the school web page, click on “academics” and click on “Institutional Review Board” in the drop down menu.  Click on “forms”.  You will be using either the Student Exempt from or the Student Expedited form.  We will talk about these early next week.  We will also talk about what we are going to do about a retest opportunity.   Let me know if you would like to meet.

Exam

Hummmm

Well folk did not do as well on the exam as I anticipated.  When all/most do poorly,  one would think that possibly there was a problem with the exam (measurement error or validity) or with  the quality of instruction.  There are others possible explanations but we will not go there at this point.  Anyway, don’t panic.  We will go over the exam and talk about possibilities on Wednesday.

I am thinking that it may be time for providing the possibility for individual meetings to talk about projects.  The end of this week is not good for me but early next week I would be happy to set up individual appointments if that would be helpful.   Think about whether that would be useful for you and if so come to class tomorrow with your calendar.

See you then.

Updates

I attempted to send you a PenCast of the notes Kinga took with the PulsePen. If you received it – take a look/listen and see what you think.

I think I have read and commented on all of the initial drafts of chapter I. For those of  you who have yet to send something in, please do so. For those who have sent in something and would like to give it another shot – that’s good to. It is fine if you put it on your Wiki page but if you do send me an email indicating I should look for it there. Otherwise send it as an attachment to an e mail.

New calendar can be found on the syllabus page

Class on June 15

I posted a “What you should know…” as a page.  That can serve as a study guide for the test on Monday.  You might pull it up and take a look.  I will attempt to save some time in class for us to talk about the areas about which you may have questions.  I hope to post a new and improved syllabus/calendar and a  PowerPoint for tomorrow’s class, as well as Don’s slides on descriptive research later today.

The last items on the review page dealing with sampling will be covered tomorrow -  I hope
